Change is in the Air

Anywhere with four seasons should be seeing Spring now, though the Swine flu may be spoiling the atmosphere somewhat, hopefully by not too much before the virus and scare will subside. But however cold the Winter has been, it surely would not have been harsher than the freeze in global financial credit. So the indolent Spring may be slow to sow spurts of hope as the dilapidated soil is still far from fertile to boom growth.

Nevertheless, it has been an eventful first quarter of year for me with no shortage of challenge and, fortunately, inspiration, achievement and satisfaction. It feels particularly great when you push things ahead against all odds and see a major undertaking to fruition. When doom and gloom are all around, what guides you through the darkness can only be your own faith in a better state of reality.

The physical reality, however, is where I have been too engrossed in of late to find enough time for the virtual world. It always feels refreshing to come back and take refuge in writing, browsing, surfing and interacting. But I wish that all those colleagues of mine who have been passing me delightful surprises of recognition - yes, those of you who cheerfully told me you have been reading my blog - will not be so shy to drop me a line or two of comments in my posts, regardless of which, of course I am excited and thankful for your visits and patronage.

In both the physical and virtual world, it is indeed from a sense of connection where a person finds ones own self and character. It does not always have to be under the spotlight or at the centre stage where ones ego is satisfied. When a chemistry of enthusiasm and joy is ignited through spontaneous and whole-hearted exchanges for some common course, that is how real fun is made, and is usually called a party - where the beauty of both variety and cohesion can be appreciated at the same time.

Although any market of shrinking demand certainly offers no cause for joy, balancing supply to match the contraction or switching resources for alternative courses of investment is not necessarily a bad thing. No business can expect indefinite growth in revenue unrealistically. The time for rationalization has to come sooner or later, and people have to live by both adapting to changes and making changes in order to connect to the reality. But in connecting with others, the joyful outcome is that we can always find a party.

With or without an auspicious cake to cut and share, and whatever change is on the way, to live is to hope for better days and more fun!
