Platitude or Inspiration?

Open-mindedness, creativity, teamwork, or any other terms of platitude or cliche which so often appear in many a figurehead's speech in a corporate environment or a political scene, will often remain as such - platitude or cliche - unless people really put their mind to it seriously.

An open-minded person takes all angles of view which come by, including those in stark opposition to ones own, objectively, before subsequently passing any judgment of subjective value - if it has to be passed - but is prepared to shape perspectives with new information coming to light, without, however, losing ones mind or integrity of sound principles. To what extent am I really open-minded in listening to others?

A creative mind stretches itself beyond the boundaries of conventional parameters, accommodate alternative perspectives and testingly shifts between paradigms to find new light for problem-solving. To what extent am I really innovative in adding value to my business?

A team player sees the bigger picture beyond what one is only able to see out of self-interests; and without necessarily surrendering or sacrificing ones self-interests, instead heartily align them with those of the team, and seeks recognition and draws pride out of the team's success - without necessarily being in the leader's position, yet without losing ones character of self (and degenerating to Ayn Rand much lamented selfless soul). To what extent am I a team character?....

Perhaps there is no definitive acid test for any of these desirable corporate attributes. It simply all starts with ones attitude to determine whether a dialogue, a speech or a vision statement remains a platitude or turns into an inspiration.

Most inspirational words can be platitude, until one is endangered or failed by lacking certain attitude or quality.
You are very right. But I just wonder how much creativity can be driven by external forces. A level of self motivation required before any external factors can have a positive effect. But yes working in a team also has an effect on the self motivation levels. Communication and teamwork is indeed an essential ingredient in achieving creativity.

I guess creativity can be somewhat and somehow inspired from external forces. But it all starts with a person's attitude to change - in other words, yes, self-motivation indeed.
