The Hardest Part

We all had our fantasies at various stages in life, which usually remain as such - fantasies - and far away from the reality. But the more illusionary a fantasy is, the harder it is for the dreamer to come to terms to reality.

I can look back in life and readily recount my own experiences of building castles in the air, in various or even big ways, imagining myself as someone I was not!

Luckily, awakening comes with age, though the process is hardly an easy one. In fact, and in effect, aging is a learning process of taming ones ego. As against the sadly but surely physical process of degeneration, perhaps the greatest joy of aging has to come from the fulfilling sense of enlightenment - of truly understanding, and tranquilly accepting who we really are.

Even if it doesn't bring joy as such, enlightenment helps one to cope with the hardest part of living: to learn to live in peace with the undesirable truth about one own self and ones own life.

Otherwise, or until you find enlightenment, just enjoy "the hardest part" of life as a beautiful song from Coldplay!
