Children

For those people who love children, why do they do so unconditionally?

Parental basic instinct doesn't really explain it all, in fact, is barely enlightening for those who are not parents.

Different people may tell different reasons. Or some will tell that the nature of love is simply inexplicable and not supposed to be rationally analyzed.

Anyway, while children are insecure creatures, they convey a certain sense of security to us adults who care to connect with them: They are, by and large, innocent and harmless, who hardly pass crude and cruel judgment on what we do. They make us feel safe to be around them. Children protect us adults no less - from all harsh world sentiments - as we physically protect them.

Consciously or otherwise, however, we are keen to mould and shape them to mirror who we are - simply by spontaneously telling them what and what not to do - imprinting their innocent mind with our biased world views, beliefs and life habits. But we also want them to become better than who we are.

For those blessed enough to be the parents of their beloved children, therefore, they are in truth bestowed and redeemed with the precious opportunity for becoming a better person - both a cause for and effect of unconditional love.
